Hi
*|FNAME|*,
Welcome to
our September newsletter. Yes, things are still weird most of
use do not know whether things are getting better or getting worse.
It feels like we are all stuck in limbo land.
Personally,
I am choosing to ignore the mainstream media constantly reminding
me about things I can't control. Instead I'm doubling down on
things that I can control that will make the world a better place.
Things like:
Working on my business to deliver an even better level of service
to our clients, helping our clients work ON their business and
helping our team improve their skills - ready for the recovery.
If you'd
like to map out a plan for working more ON your business and how
to better use technology to be faster, more efficient and more
innovative going into the future, then give me a call on 08 8326
4364 and let's chat.
Security
is one of the most important areas in the IT. It is also one of
the most overlooked areas, but if you loose all your data accidentally
or in a hacking attack what would you do and how much money would
it cost you?
As such I
will be including a specific section in each months newsletter
dedicated to security. We will start it off this month with a
description of MFA.
MFA
or 2FA (Multi Factor Authentication or 2 Factor Authentication)
is a must for all online accounts. This is your first line of
defence to help hackers gain access to your online accounts. With
MFA even if the hackers have access to your username and password
they will not be able to get access to your account as a secondary
identification method is needed. Check out our
blog article on MFA from a couple of years ago for more details.
MFA is a low
cost way of adding an extra layer of security to you defences.
It is already available in 99% of online accounts and just needs
to be turned on and configured. If you need help let me know.
Out
and About
Some
of our work over the past month includes:
continuing
our rollout of Cisco routers and switches for a major financial
institution. We have done over 60 sites ranging from Victor
Harbor to Kapunda and most place in between.
our techs
attended the August SMBiT
Professionals meeting. We networked with other local IT
service providers and learnt more about networking, the NBN
and Internet fail over policies and procedures.
This
month we have a great tip on searching in Outlook.
We
publish these tech tips each Tuesday morning to our social networks,
so please join us on the following platforms:

Blog
Articles
Our
blog articles this month revolve around the coranavirus and how
you can stay safe and work from home. We also have more blog articles
and eBooks available on our website at:
When
it comes to internet security, most businesses do not have the
protection they really need. Many people rely on software products
that bundle antivirus and firewall protection into one, and many
users think this is enough – but it isn’t.
All
business teams, whether they work remotely, are all in the office
or a combination of the two, want to work together and get the
job done efficiently. Microsoft SharePoint helps make that happen.
What
we can do easily today was literally the stuff of dreams just
10 or 20 years ago. But as much as good technology has made working
remotely easier and enabled many businesses to keep going via
working from home, we also must remember that trying to fix IT
issues yourself may cause more issues and can be a massive time
thief.

We
Love Referrals
The
greatest gift anyone can give us is a referral to your business
colleagues. Referrals help us keep costs down so we can pass the
savings to our clients. I personally promise we’ll look
after your colleagues business with a high level of care and attention
(just like we do with all our clients).
That
is all for this month. Feel free to forward this email to your
staff and colleagues and remember to drop us a like (and a review)
on social media (see links below)!
