Hello
*|FNAME|*,
I hope you are going well?
Both myself and Paul are currently working at Kings Creek Station and Erldunda Roadhouse near Alice Springs in the NT. We are here installing some new computers and looking at ways in which we can improve their wireless connectivity, Internet speeds and redundancy.
I mentioned last month that Microsoft will be releasing CoPilot shortly. This promises to be a real game changer but MS will be charging $US30 / user / month. This hefty price I believe will put the majority of uses off unless they can get true value from it. There are other similar type applications out there so it will be interesting to see how well received it will be.
As security risks change and evolve our response to them and what we recommend to clients has to also change and respond. As such we are currently recommending a layered approach to clients security, and our baseline includes:
- a firewall or security gateway on the entry into your network. Either a Watchguard firewall or a Ubiquiti Security Gateway for smaller clients.
- security software on the endpoint / computer. For this we recommend a combination of MS Defender and Huntress MDR.
- improving your Microsoft cloud hosted accounts through the improvement in your MS Secure Score.
- securing your passwords through the use of a password manager like Keeper Security.
If you would like further information on this please let me know.
Cheers,
David Perkovic
